Josh's Frogs Dubia Roaches

Overview

What it is and who it suits

Josh's Frogs Dubia Roaches are a premium feeder insect offering designed for reptile, amphibian, and arachnid keepers who want a nutritious, low-maintenance staple diet for their collection. Dubia roaches (Blaptica dubia) are widely regarded by herpetoculturists as one of the best feeder insects available due to their soft exoskeleton, high protein content, favorable fat and moisture ratios, and inability to climb smooth-sided enclosures, which means they won't escape and hide in your home like crickets often do. Josh's Frogs raises these roaches in clean, well-maintained colonies, ensuring that customers receive healthy, active, and appropriately sized insects every time, whether feeding a juvenile bearded dragon, a leopard gecko, a tarantula, or a larger monitor lizard.

What sets Josh's Frogs Dubia Roaches apart is the attention to sizing and sorting, allowing keepers to order roaches that are perfectly matched to the size of their pet, reducing the risk of choking hazards or uneaten prey harassing a resting reptile. The company offers a range of sizes from small nymphs suitable for juvenile dart frogs and small geckos up to large adult roaches ideal for bigger bearded dragons and monitors. Each shipment is carefully packed to minimize stress and mortality during transit, often including proper ventilation and cushioning material like egg crate to keep the roaches calm and secure. Customers consistently note the vitality of the roaches upon arrival, a testament to Josh's Frogs' commitment to quality husbandry practices before the insects ever leave the facility.

Beyond their nutritional value, Dubia roaches from Josh's Frogs are also prized for their ease of care, making them an excellent choice for keepers looking to start their own feeder colony at home. They are quiet, odor-controlled when properly maintained, and reproduce at a manageable rate, allowing for a sustainable, cost-effective feeder insect supply over time. Josh's Frogs often includes care information to help customers set up a thriving colony, covering topics like ideal temperature, humidity, and gut-loading diets to maximize the nutritional benefit passed on to the reptiles and amphibians being fed. This combination of quality, convenience, and customer support has made Josh's Frogs Dubia Roaches a trusted staple for both novice and experienced exotic pet owners seeking a reliable live food source.
